I visited a museum devoted to Sam Houston this past week and learned something interesting I would like to look into: apparently Tocqueville met Houston during his trip. According to the museum, Tocqueville apparently considered Houston to be a simple backwoods politician, but apparently Tocqueville learned insights about about the Native Americans from him
