Be Outraged for the Republic, and Contemptuous of Their Desperation. But Be Smart.
The Trump Raid Is Likely a Ploy to Provoke Violence
Look, I don’t know what it is. But it smells of desperation. Of corrupt actors knowing their world is falling apart, and that at least some of them are going to be exposed.
I think William Jacobson has it right. His headline is: This is a provocation. They are trying to get a reaction that allows a further crackdown. His sub-head: Don’t take the bait.
November approaches.
The Hunter Biden laptop dirt is real, and even the WAPO people are admitting it now.
The vax-harms are mounting ever and ever higher, making it harder and harder for every denier. Steve Kirsch actually had a four-minute interview scheduled with Fox this evening prior to this story breaking. That would have been a significant first.
Even on the November 2020 front, the establishment’s line is suffering multiple breaches.
I could go on…
I don’t really have good words on this. Read Jacobson—the very name of his long-respected blog, Legal Insurrection, is instructive on this night.
Yes, any Democrats you still know and communicate with—make them feel your emotional sense of how shameful this unprecedented action is.
Yes, demand tough action from GOP politicians. We need promises to impeach, regardless of conviction odds in the Senate, and we need them for at least 20-30 figures. Also, promises to starve the FBI and DOJ of funding.
And, we need some GOP politicians to start coordinating the groundwork for national work stoppages and similar mass protests, including some that are illegal civil disobedience, if more banana republic moves are taken by Biden and co. GOP leaders committed to non-violence need to get out in-front of the waves of outrage and demands for radical protest actions that will come if these idiot-bullies dare to arrest Trump, or to do some equivalent outrage. Coordination for that has to begin.
Lots to think about. But Jacobsen is probably right about the basic motive for this.
Be Outraged for the Republic, and Contemptuous of Their Desperation. But Be Smart.
Indeed, this is no time to act crazy. It would be good to have some daring leaders heading off recklessness-
The Dems may be playing from a position of strength, i.e., believing that they can control election outcomes if they really apply all of their available tools. So the raid is just typical tyranny, showing the population who's boss…
