Yesterday, I went on Lee Smith’s talk show to talk about cinema & America. As for Lee, he’s a veteran journalist, but if you don’t know him, you might want to read his work on foreign policy & the shenanigans our elites are up to in D.C. over at Tablet Mag, or read his more recent expose, The Permanent Coup, or watch the very successful documentary Amanda Milius made from his previous work, The plot against the president.
You can find the conversation here (audio only), we talked for an hour. Lee is much too kind to me, a new champion of my film criticism-as-patriotic education. I cannot believe I achieve very much, but I don’t blush to say that my intentions are as high-minded as they can be. We rightly don’t judge people by their intentions, but it’s a good way to begin to understand writing, which after all, is an art.
I should add a word about the platform: Lee’s show is on Callin, a new social media platform started by David Sacks, one of the PayPal founders. It’s audio-only, primarily for smartphones, but works on computers as well, something of a replacement for clubhouse, which was very popular at the beginning of the madness epidemic, but has since collapsed, presumably for the same reason everything else liberals try to do in the culture collapses—their nihilism. I think well of Mr. Sacks & I hope his platform is a success.
Glad you're getting some more, richly deserved, attention and platforms, Titus. And thanks for the platform info. If you didn't tell me about these things, I'd know nothing about them!
Absolutely GREAT. THIS IS SO NEEDED!!!!!
