The documentary created by the leader of Utah Business Revival, Eric Moutsos, organizer of one of the first anti-lockdown protests anywhere in the world, as mentioned in my post below, Songbook No. 124, Van Morrison, “Where Have All the Rebels Gone,” is now available for free sharing.

The film is pretty self-explanatory. It shows how the group got started and explains its key protest events. Country-music fans, perhaps annoyed by my ignoring their stars’ far more reliable contributions to the anti-lockdown cause in my Morrison posts, should go about 1/2 in to see how Collin Raye dared to do a much-attacked protest concert with UBR. I thought the most powerful moment was the testimony of a nurse about a third in, but the whole thing is worth your time. Also key is the story towards the end about how facebook tried to shut the UBR’s page down, and was only stopped by Senator Mike Lee.
This is what American federalism and localism allows for, if enough people stand up.
I oppose any blunt calling of the supporters of lockdowns and similar policies Nazis and Communists, even if I accept the point made by this film that there are disturbing similarities in the stories of how those villains got hold of their societies, and how Covid-dogmatists got hold of ours. I have a doctorate in Political Science, and I am a published expert on what the East German Stasi did during its career. I warn one and all that we dishonor the memory of the victims of those truly totalitarian regimes when we too-blithely compare them to our pro-lockdown governments. But even non-totalitarian despotism is despotism, all despotism is bad, and there can be no question, take it from a Doctor, that a new variant of despotism, of uncertain future development and virulence, came into our societies in 2020, nowhere taking over completely, but shamefully, nowhere stoutly and reliably attacked by democratic antibodies. Here in Utah, we have Eric Moutsos to thank for the fact that our shame is not as stark as it is in most places.
