So here’s perhaps a pleasant distraction from the confusion of Tuesday’s elections—on which more next Monday, by which point I guess all the votes will have been counted…—here’s a podcast on the Italian elections, on Italian politics, on the lady stirring the nation these days, Giorgia Meloni, a career politician from a party that seemed destined for permanent opposition who has however somehow emerged as the most successful campaigner of recent years & on top of a seemingly strong coalition of the right. This is very rare in Italy, & who knows if it will last! But it bears talking about so I interviewed one of my Italian friends. Listen & enjoy!
