If this were a story, I'd point out that Tremoglie is an Italian word we could translate thrice a woman.

I think the correct conservative position is: A.) we will never agree to institute an Indigenous People's Day on Columbus Day--for honoring the Native Americans of North America should never be done by means of an explicit expense of honor to Columbus the man, to Columbus element of the traditional-for-a-century civic education, or to Italian-American pride, B.) we don't regard Columbus Day, as opposed to Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, President's Day, Memorial Day, and Veteran's Day, as one of the hills we will die on, but until you, oh Left, are willing to cut a deal, we will defend it in the spirit of Simmons' editorial and of general conservativism, will highlight every jot and tittle of the fibs and errors Howard Zinn and his ilk have made, and will never accept a merely Fed Govt. defeat on this but will resist in every conservative-held state and school district indefinitely, C.) if getting IP Day (again, on another date) is such big deal for you, to get us to cooperate you must either C1) cut one of "your" more contemporary holidays from the calendar, such as the shamefully-instituted Juneteenth, or if you dare--and on this we cannot promise across-the-board conservative agreement--, MLK Day, or C2) grant us an additional holiday, with our top choice being a day off for Constitution Day, although we are open to others, such as Frederick Douglass Day, Hamilton Day, John Winthrop Day, Defeat of Communism Day, etc., D.) identically, if getting rid of Columbus Day is such a big deal for you, we will resist at every govt. level we can, unless again, you cut a deal with our coalition similar to C1 or C2. End of discussion.
