Yes, It's Time to Call Them Nazis
CNBC's Jim Cramer, NYC's de Blasio, and maybe even Germany's Merkel
Why does Jim Cramer still have a job? Anybody home at CNBC? It is acceptable there to call for THIS?
Think about how this would work. The U.S. would learn that yours truly is unvaccinated. So the order would go out, and a military/medical unit would roll up at my home? Tackle me if I ran? Strap me down inside their truck and administer the shot?
You know, there is this line in the Declaration of Independence:
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government...
Cramer’s recommended policy, regardless of his mention of a legally incoherent idea that some tiny minority could get a court-approved “conscientious objector” status, would provoke mass resistance from the around 110 million other unvaxxed Americans (near 35% of us), much of it violent, and it would likely result in an all-out revolution.
And if you think Americans would not successfully revolt in the face of such a policy, then Cramer is not insane, but the moral equivalent of a German thought-leader calling for Nazism prior to Hitler’s election, or of a Russian thought-leader calling for Bolshevism prior to Lenin’s coup.
And so, we shouldn’t call Cramer a Nazi…why exactly?
Consider how much his New America, call it “Cramer-stan,” would be like Germany under the Nazis.
FORCED VAXXES? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: Y
REPUDIATION OF IDEA OF SACRED RIGHTS? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: Y
MOST RULES DONE BY ADMINISTRATIVE EDICT? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: Y
APOSTASY FROM BIBLICAL RELIGION? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: Y
IDOLATROUS LOVE OF MARTIAL VIRTUES? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: N
GLEE AT SEEING THOSE WHO DISAGREE WITH YOU COERCED BY MILITARY UNITS? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: Y
PRESSURE TO AFFIRM OFFICIAL PROPOGANDA? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: Y
OFFICIAL HATRED OF JEWS, GYPSIES, AND GAYS? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: N
OFFICIAL HATRED OF DISSIDENTS? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: Y
EXTERMINATION CAMPS? Nazis: Y Cramer-stan: N
So let’s see, we assume Cramer does not call for a Holocaust, nor for any persecution of racial or sexual-orientation minority groups, nor for the idolization of military might. He presumably wants to keep a few of the surface features of democracy and constitutionalism around, and remains all for the capitalism that he made his name on. Oh, and hey—he doesn’t say he’s a Nazi.
So sure, he’s not a Nazi in the full sense. To be that, after all, he’d have to say “As a Jewish capitalist and capitalism-promoter, I am vermin that deserves extermination!” His ideology is not the same as the Nazi one whose central elements were well-laid out in political theory essays/chapters by thinkers like Alain Besancon, Leo Strauss, and Pierre Manent. Someday, essays that lay out the weird mix of totalitarianism with business freedom and Potemkin democracy that people like Jim Cramer were for in late 2021 will be published.
And yes, a thousand times yes, it is reckless rhetoric, willful ignorance of key political science distinctions, and a diminishment of what of millions of victims suffered under the actual regimes, to label just ANY sort of authoritarianism “Stasi!”” Stalinist!,” “Nazi!” etc. The distinction between totalitarian tyranny, as opposed to more-ordinary tyranny, is vital, as Flagg Taylor and I indicated in our academic book about the totalitarianism of East Germany. Similarly important is the distinction between ordinary tyranny, and an otherwise decent democracy that is occasionally engaging in tyrannical actions, actions that are instances of “tyranny of the majority” in the words of Alexis de Tocqueville, and “majority faction,” in those of James Madison.
That’s why it was wrong, back in the earliest days of the anti-lockdown protests, when certain Michigan protesters took recourse in the easy rhyme between “Whitmer” and “Hitler.” (Yeah, she spelled it wrong—big deal.)
I believe Governor Whitmer’s lockdown governance was disgraceful, despotic (in the sense of her edicts trending towards despotism), and that she deserved to be impeached for this; but, I would be flouting basic definitions of political science to call her a despot/tyrant, let alone a Hitler.
I am a stickler that way. Don’t go tossing terms like “Nazi” around at the drop of a hat. Junk your sign, lady.
But let Jim Cramer have it. In this rant of his, the differences between him and a full Nazi are down to a mere handful. He is betraying everything America taught him, and gave him. He is certainly advocating a new degree of authoritarianism in law, and of a kind that would likely require tyrannic measures in other areas, such as in media freedom, to enforce it. And it matters that forced vaccination would plainly violate the first principle of the Nuremberg Code, a code adopted to prevent doctors from acting like the Nazi ones.
What is more, this tirade might not have been slip, but a trial-balloon.
Consider, for example, Bill de Blasio’s parting shot as mayor of New York, a mandate that applies to all workers: get vaxxed or get fired. Hard to say if incoming mayor Eric Adams will be foolish/evil enough to continue it, or if courts won’t keep blocking it, but DeBlasio intended it to become law on December 27th, a few days before his term of office ends. DeBlasio insists that this is the only “consistent” and “universal” policy, like the crude-thinking socialist he is, and, he repeats the Orwellian line that the White House uses, that “we know mandates work.” Right. But what really disturbs me is that at one point when making his case, he dared to let these words slip:
The voluntary phase is over. (See here at 11:35)
Oh really, Bill? And where did you get that? Who did you first try that line out on, or who first tried it out on you? And why, since you surely know that for that line to make sense you would have to get your city pretty close to what Cramer calls for, are you saying it with such confidence right now? And why do you appear so proud to be the American politician who’s pioneering this unprecedented sort of policy?
Maybe de Blasio knows, as this shocking The Last Refuge story would suggest, that something is afoot. We are now seeing that many European leaders like Merkel are not going to denounce and isolate Austria for its announced intention to fine ($4,000) or imprison for four weeks every vax-resister, in addition to their near-total lockdown of them as second-class citizens, but rather, are likely going to follow its lead.
Of course, why shouldn’t the one-time fines lead eventually to monthly ones, the four-week jail terms to extended detentions, and once you’ve gone that far, why wouldn’t you just strap the unvaxxed to the table already?
So it’s time to call Jim Cramer a Nazi. Bill de Blasio a Nazi. CNBC the Nazi Network every day it refuses to fire Jim Cramer. And yes, shocking as it is, to say that Angela Merkel’s successor looks likely to lead Germany to a partial re-embrace of Nazism.
Even as evidence grows that Omicron might be the thing that puts the pandemic largely to bed, given the way it is mild and will likely take over, and even as on multiple fronts the entire rationale for the vaccine-strategy is collapsing, as I have shown, or as this devastating Bret Weinstein/Peter McCullough video shows, even with all that, it seems that some in our elites are girding themselves for a final “tough-on-Covid-19” push, into—what?
What should we call it?
Technically, leaders like de Blasio, Merkel, and Austria’s Nehammer, are a new kind of totalitarian. But you can’t really put that on a sign, and so this is an acceptable kind of shorthand. And, a needed kind of shock-language.
Call them Nazis!
Neil Oliver knows how horrifying the trend is in Austria and Germany. Inspiring little speech.
